چکیده
Reexamination of the type material of Squilla? kiowana Scott, 1970 and study of additional specimens of the same taxon indicates that it is a mecochirid decapod referable to a new genus, Huhatanka. This assignment brings to five the number of North American species referable to the Mecochiridae.

A new fossil caridean shrimp (Crustacea: Decapoda) from the Cretaceous (Albian) of the Romualdo Formation, Araripe Basin, northeastern Brazil.
A new fossil caridean shrimp, Kellnerius jamacaruensis n. gen. n. sp., of the early Cretaceous (Albian) from the Romualdo Formation, Araripe Basin, northeastern Brazil is described and illustrated. The new species is compared to known fossil palaemonids found in Brazil. Kellnerius jamacaruensis n. gen. n. sp. is easily differentiated from the other palaemonids by a rostrum with 5 spines, an enl...
متن کاملDistribution and type of organic matter in Cretaceous to Tertiary source rocks in Soroosh and Nowrooz fields, Persian Gulf
Detailed organic petrography analysis were conducted on drill core and cutting samples from the Nahr Umr (Middle Albian), Burgan (Lower Albian) and Ratawi (Hauterivian) formations on the Soroosh and Nowrooz fields, NW part of the Iranian sector of the Persian Gulf. The thermal maturity of the Middle Albian Nahr Umr Formation appears to have reached the top of the oil window. The underlying Burg...
متن کاملA Gigantic Shark from the Lower Cretaceous Duck Creek Formation of Texas
Three large lamniform shark vertebrae are described from the Lower Cretaceous of Texas. We interpret these fossils as belonging to a single individual with a calculated total body length of 6.3 m. This large individual compares favorably to another shark specimen from the roughly contemporaneous Kiowa Shale of Kansas. Neither specimen was recovered with associated teeth, making confident identi...
متن کاملThe Oldest Higher True Crabs (crustacea: Decapoda: Brachyura): Insights from the Early Cretaceous of the Americas
Despite the extensive fossil record of higher crabs (Eubrachyura) from Late Cretaceous and Cenozoic rocks worldwide, their Early Cretaceous occurrences are scarce and fragmentary, obscuring our understanding of their early evolution. Until now, representatives of only two families of eubrachyuran-like crabs were known from the Early Cretaceous: Componocancridae and Tepexicarcinidae fam. nov., b...
متن کاملThe Basal Nodosaurid Ankylosaur Europelta carbonensis n. gen., n. sp. from the Lower Cretaceous (Lower Albian) Escucha Formation of Northeastern Spain
Nodosaurids are poorly known from the Lower Cretaceous of Europe. Two associated ankylosaur skeletons excavated from the lower Albian carbonaceous member of the Escucha Formation near Ariño in northeastern Teruel, Spain reveal nearly all the diagnostic recognized character that define nodosaurid ankylosaurs. These new specimens comprise a new genus and species of nodosaurid ankylosaur and repre...
